Summer Birthday Bash! The Smurfs Dance Party for Wii Review

With two summer birthdays to plan for, there are a few things that are definitely mandatory. There's got to be dancing and this year, we have to invite the Smurfs. They were always my favorite show as a kid, and I am so excited to see that they are making a comeback. Ubisoft and Wii are excited about the Smurfs as well, and they are celebrating with their brand new video game release, The Smurfs Dance Party.

I am very particular about the video games I let my kids play. I have zero tolerance for blood and violence. I also like games that keep kids moving. The Wii is my favorite game system because it encourages interactive play. Its more than just sitting on your butt pushing buttons. You have to actually get up and be a part of the game. The Smurfs Dance Party for Wii is just the type of game I am always on the look out for. It really get kids moving with lots of great songs from artists we all know and love including Katy Perry and Barbara Streisand as well as "Smurftastic" songs sung by all our favorite little blue friends . Check out the trailer below to see what its all about.

The Smurfs Dance Party is rated E so its perfect for kids of all ages. My older kids are eleven and nine, and they had a great time dancing along to all her favorite songs. And even the baby tried to join in on the sidelines. I also had fun, although my kids are much better dancers and totally kicked my butt. I can blame that on being eight months pregnant, right?  The game offers full tracks, no annoying partials and has several levels of difficulty from beginner to expert. You can play with up to four players so its a great choice for family game night.  The track list includes the following:

1. A Year Without Rain
2. Barbra Streisand
3. Blame It On the Boogie
4. Boom Shack-A-Lak
5. Everybody Up
6. Gargamel
7. Go Go Go Get It
8. Higher
9. I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me) 10. Just The Way You Are 11. Smurfs (Main Title) 12. Like Whoa 13. More Than a Name 14. Mr. Smurfastastic 15. One of the Boys 16. Smurfberry-licious 17. The Noisy Smurf 18. Very Blue Moon 19. Walk This Way 20. We Have Us 21. We Like To Smurf It 22. Welcome to NY 23. Who Let the Smurfs Out

If you are interested in purchasing The Smurfs Dance Party for Wii for your own family, it is available now in stores nationwide. An exclusive edition is available only at Toys "R" Us which includes the bonus track, 'Walking on Sunshine'. You can also find the game on Amazon  for $29.99. This looks like a fun game! May have to add it to the Christmas list for the kids this year.
