My son is obsessed with dinosaurs. He watches everything he can find on TV about them, reads all the books, and collects anything with a dinosaur on it. So of course, he was super excited to have the chance to check out the Geosafari Dino Dig modeling sets from Educational Insights. These are a must have for any dinosaur fan and a great way for kids to have hours of fun and actually learn something at the same time.
For our review, my son picked out the Triceratops model because this has always been one of his favorite veggie eating dinosaurs. With this set, you will be able to build a life like model of the dinosaur by piecing together the various bones and using wax to mold them together. But first, you will have to dig up those bones, which is what makes this kit so much more unique than other dinosaur models. The fossils are encased in clay blocks and kids will have to excavate them, just like a real paleontologist.
The Geosafari Dino Digs Kit comes with everything you need including all the skeletal pieces in clay blocks, excavation tools, wax adhesive, modeling stand, and a 32 page guide with dino facts, model tips and more. It is designed for ages seven and up. My son is nine and he was able to complete the model completely on his own and was very happy with the end result. In addition to the Triceratops, they also offer a Tyrannosaurus Rex and a Velociraptor kit. Each set is available for only $19.99 at Educational Insights.
In honor of the New Age Mama Summer Birthday Bash, the wonderful folks over at Educational Insights are going to give one of my readers the same Dino Digs Triceratops kit that I received to review. To enter, use the Rafflecopter form below. Only one set of entries per person/household or IP address is allowed.
