Flicka, Ricka, Dicka and Their New Skates - Book Review

Its never too early to start your Christmas shopping. I like to get a few things here and there starting in the summer so that I am not overwhelmed in December when there is no much going on. One of the things that is a constant on my Christmas list are holiday books for my kids. This year, one of the books I will be giving to my girls is the holiday classic Flicka, Ricka, Dicka and their New Skates, written by Maj Lindman. This adorable story about three identical sisters has been enchanting audiences since the 1950's and my kids are no different.  My kids loved the bright pictures and were especially excited about the new addition of the paper dolls that can be stored in the convenient slot in the back of the book. Its a wonderful story that spans generations and will provide hours of holiday fun. Here is a little more info about the book and the author.

Plot Summary: Early one Christmas morning in Sweden, Flicka, Ricka, and Dicka opened their eyes. Soon they would have their Christmas gifts! For the first time in over thirty years, this classic holiday tale returns, in a deluxe hardcover edition. Longtime fans of the series will delight in revisiting the story, and new readers will find fun and excitement as the girls must save their friend Bertie after an ice-skating disaster.

Paperdolls included.
