Summer Fun with Mussleman's Apple Sauce

The kids are out of school, and that means they will be looking for snacks to munch on at home. As parents, we need to make healthy choices for our children. But kids demand things that taste good too. When it comes to great  anytime snacks, I know that I can always turn to Mussleman's.  Even when I was a kid, I used to love Mussleman's Apple Sauce.  Its a tradition I am happy to pass on to my children.

 

Mussleman's was nice enough to send my family a few of their newest varieties to try out, all in an adorable picnic basket complete with a tablecloth. Now we can take our Mussleman's applesauce with us wherever we go!  My kids loved the Totally Fruit in the Peach and Strawberry varieties! Its a total taste sensation. After my son finished eating a banana at dinner, he asked if he could have one for his snack. He choose it over brownies and ice cream. That's got to tell you something! Plus its healthy and made with natural ingredients. No high fructose corn syrup.  This is a snack that I am happy and proud to buy for my children.

Don't forget that mom's should snack healthy too. Try the Chunky Applesauce or the No Sugar added variety.  Its designed for woman on the go to keep up with a healthy, active life style. But kids will love them too, so they are great for the whole family. You can also use your applesauce for lots of unique recipes. To spice up your summer, try the Summer Salsa. Green Summer Salsa

Ingredients 1 c. MUSSELMAN'S ® Homestyle Chunky Apple Sauce (2 single-serve cups) 1 can (4 oz.) chopped green chilies, well drained 2 Tbsp. lime juice 2 Tbsp. snipped parsley or cilantro Additional fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish (optional) Regular or low-salt tortilla chips

Directions In small bowl, combine apple sauce, chilies, lime juice and parsley or cilantro. Cover and refrigerate at least one hour to blend flavors. Garnish with additional fresh parsley or cilantro. Serve with tortilla chips. Servings: 6-8 Cooking Time: x0
