I have always been a fan of crime television. There is something about a good murder mystery that really gets your adrenaline pumping. When the show in question also features a strong female character, its even better. With the amazing Prime Suspect: The Complete Collection on DVD, you will be getting more than 25 hours of back to back action that will leave you at the edge of your seat. Just sit back and enjoy British drama at its best. I had never seen Prime Suspect before getting this DVD set to review, but let me tell you, once I got it I was so enthralled I watched the complete set in only five days. Here is a little bit of info about the series.

Disc 1
In the opening series, D.C.I. Is this a single murder or the latest act of a serial killer? Tennison refuses to back off the investigation.

Tennison has proven herself and won her colleagues’ grudging respect. When she is assigned to head a murder inquiry in the African Caribbean community, it seems further evidence that her star is on the rise. Suddenly she’s in the thick of a racial controversy, working with a black detective who is also her former lover (guest star Colin Salmon, Keen Eddie), and dealing with prejudice in the field and on her team. A wrenching personal decision colors her search for an abducted toddler in The Lost Child. In Inner Circles, the manager of an exclusive country club is found dead in his home, and fingers point to the residents of a local housing project. The Scent of Darkness finds Tennison happy in her private life, but strained at work. New murders cast doubt on a case she solved previously, to the delight of an old adversary.

Detective Superintendent Tennison relocates to the Greater Manchester Police for a stint as a community relations officer at local schools. In the final series, Detective Superintendent Tennison is pushing 60 and facing the death of her father. Alcohol, loneliness, and the job have taken their toll, but she is determined to end her exemplary career by solving one more case: the brutal murder of schoolgirl Sallie Sturdy. Weeks away from retirement and struggling to stay afloat, Tennison forms an emotional bond with Sallie’s closest friend, Penny Philips, and unwittingly puts the teenager’s life in danger.
