The Feathered Serpent: The Complete Series DVD Review

I have always been fascinated with the lives of the Aztecs. They have such an interesting culture, rich with secrets and mysticism. Of course, there are certain things we will never know for sure, and when it comes to the series, The Feathered Serpent, I'm sure some liberties were taken for the sake of the storyline. But I was still enchanted by this amazing British series that was originally released back in 1976. The twelve episodes on this series will bring you on a journey through an ancient world where you can explore a long dead civilization and enjoy some interesting costume choices. This classic British series is a cult classic that is really making a comeback.

In The Feathered Serpent, you will follow the exploits of a scheming fanatical Aztec priest, played by Patrick Troughton. As high priest Nasca, a priest of the blood thirsty god Techcata, he's determined to destroy the peace loving emperor Kukulkhan and prevent his marriage. A marriage that will unite two kingdoms under the benevolent god Quala, the Feathered Serpent. Toza, a brave servant boy, plays a key role as the adventure unfolds and Nasca's plots become more deadly. This series, though short lived, provides an amazing look into an ancient world and will leave you on the edge  of your seat for the whole 12 episodes. And when they are over, you'll wish there was more.

If you are interested in historical fiction or have always loved the Aztecs,  then The Feathered Serpent will be perfect for you. The complete series is available at Acorn Media starting on May 17th for the low price of $39.99. It includes all 12 episodes on 2 discs as well as historical background on ancient Mesoamerican civilizations . Check it out today. You won't be disappointed.
