Holiday Gift Guide - Chuggington Die-Cast Trainig Yard with Loop Review

Since I had my first child over ten years ago, Learning Curve has always been one of my favorite companies. Their baby products and toys that are reliable, safe, and fun. Whenever the holiday season comes around, I always see what new products they have to offer. This year, one of the things I knew my son was going to love was the Chuggington Die Cast Training Yard With Loop, which was named one of the hottest toys of 2010 by Toys R Us.

The Chuggington Die Cast is an exciting and interactive toy that will provide hours of entertainment for children of all ages and is based off characters they know and love. All of my kids, even the baby, were thrilled with it. The first step was the assembly which is something I normally dread. But the tracks were surprisingly easy to snap to together and it took only a few minutes to have the whole thing up and running. The kids were able to do most of it on their own. The only thing I really had to help with is the insertion of the D batteries.  Even better, the clean up is just as simple. You can take apart the pieces, put them back in the box, and store them out of sight until the kids are ready to use it again.

Once we had the Chuggington Die Cast put together, it was time to check it out. It came with a Wilson figure and we also received one additional Koko character. You can guide the cars along the tracks by hand or you can let them go on their own. If you start and the top of the ramp, Wilson will ride the whole way to the bottom. The motorized launcher near the loop should give them the extra boost they need to fly upside down around the loop. We found that they only made the loop maybe once every ten or fifteen tries. But this didn't discourage my kids from playing. They thought it was hilarious when Wilson went flying off the tracks and they made a game out of who could actually make the loop the most times. They played with it for well over an hour, and only stopped because they had to get ready for bed. Check out this video to see how much fun they had.

In addition to the Chuggington Die Cast, Learning Curve has dozens of other toys and games for children of all ages that would make wonderful holiday gifts. You can find lots of your other favorite characters including Thomas the Train and Dinosaur Train. To keep up with Learning Curve and their whole family of products, you can follow The First Years on face book or twitter.  Whether its mealtime, playtime or bedtime, you'll find everything you need for your kids at the Learning Curve. ***Please note that I received no form of monetary compensation for this post. I did receive a sample of the product to try in order to write a fair and honest review. The opinions expressed in this review are my own and were not influenced in any way. ***
