My children and I love to take walks together. And we also love the environment. With a little encouragement from Green Works, we decided to combine these two things and take the Walk to School Challenge! The challenge is simple, you just need to put down the car keys and walk! There are lots of benefits to doing this. You will be creating less pollution, getting the exercise you need, and most importantly, you will be spending quality time with your children!
For the last few weeks, my children and I have walked the half mile to their school every day. Along the way, we have found lots of things to talk about. Like the new friends they've made this year, and how they like their teachers. Normally the day gets pretty hectic once we get home. Between activities and homework, dinner and cleaning up, we don't always have time to just talk. Thanks to Green Works, we have really found a great way to connect with each other. Even the baby is having a great time going for a ride each morning in her Smart Trike and seeing her big brother and sister off to school.
