What If Review - Now Playing In Theatres

What if God gave you a second chance? What would you do differently in your life? Most of us will never get that chance. But in the new feature film, "What If", Ben (Kevin Sorbo) gets to see what his life might have been like if he had made different choices.

When Ben was still in college, he had been in love Wendy (Kristy Swanson) and studying theology in the hopes of becoming a reverend.  But somewhere along the way he decided that money was more important. He leaves behind his first love and his true path and becomes a successful executive engaged to a beautiful heiress. But his life is hallow, and even if he doesn't realize it, God knows he was meant for so much more. So God sends an angel (Mike Ratzenberger) to show him what his life might have been. He gets in a car accident and wakes up to find himself in a whole new life. He is married to Wendy, a reverend in his old home town, and the father of two daughters.

At first Ben thinks he's just crazy or dreaming, and he has a lot of trouble adjusting to this alternate universe. He botches his first sermon, alienates his teenage daughter (Debbie Ryan), and frustrates his wife. He longs for his own life, but even when he gets back to his place of employment, no one recognizes him. But as time goes by, he starts to see what he really has. He begins to fall in love with his children and his wife all over again, and he even embraces life on the pulpit.  But God has more twists and turns in store for Ben.  And which life he winds up with in the end in anybody's guess.

"What If " is an adorable family movie that is a modern version of "Its A Wonderful Life".  Its filled with stars both you and your children will love. I've been a fan of Kevin Sorbo since his "Hercules" days and my kids both love Debbie Ryan from "Sweet Life on Deck:". It was great to see them working together. The story was funny and touching, and it teaches you a lesson about what is really important in life.  But don't take my word for it, check out this trailer:

***Please note I was given an advance copy of the movie in order to facilitate my review. Opinions expressed are still my own***
