I got married to my first husband when I was very young. At the time, we thought it was best for him to go to college first, because I planned on staying home to raise the kids. So the first few years of our marriage, I worked and put him through college. Then, just when the kids were going to start school and it was supposed to be my turn, I got divorced. Life as a single mom with a full time job didn't allow much time for college. But now, I at a stay at home mom again, and instead of waiting for my new baby to grow up, I am thinking about taking some online courses. But there are so many options, I just didn't know where to start. I know I want to study English Literature, but what other types of classes should I take? How much will it cost? Can they work with my crazy, hectic schedule?
At American Public University's website, I found the answers to all these questions and more. They understand that being a stay at home mom doesn't mean you don't work. If anything, it means that we work full time with no sick days or vacation time. Our free time is limited, and we need to make the most of every second. APU will work with your schedule. Unlike traditional campus classes, APU offers classes that run only one month at a time. So if you have too many soccer games in the fall or too many school plays during the holidays, you can work around that and choose classes that fit with your schedule.
There are lots of other benefits besides their flexible schedule. They have over 100 degrees to choose from, so their is something for everyone. Their tuition is one of the most affordable in the country, starting at around $750 for a three credit class. Their average costs for books are much less than other colleges and credits can be transferred.
If you are a mom who wants to get an education, now is the time to take action. You can be a good mother and still be yourself! Take the initiative and check out APU today!
