Novica Unique Gifts Review

Novica, in association with National Geographic is an amazing new online web shop that offers literally thousands of beautiful and unique cultural gifts from around the world.  All the items are handmade by talented artisans. Whether you are looking for jewelry, home decor, chess sets, or even musical instrumentes, Novica has a gift that the recipient will not only love, but will truly cherish as a one of a kind work of art.

For review, I was sent a $75 eletronic gift card to use on the website so I could not only see some of the products but also the workings of the website. We chose the Bamboo quena flute, 'Night Owl' by Benito Tito from the Andes and the Travel chess set, 'Mind Challenge' by Suresh Garg in India.  The ordering process was simple. Once we picked out what we liked the best, which was a VERY hard decision, we were able to enter the gift card. We spent a little over the $75 and I was happy to see that paypal was a payment option for the extra. I was also very suprised by how reasonable shipping prices were. It was only about $5 per item. Since each has to be shipped seperately from the country of origin this was a very good price.

The items themselves took about two weeks to arrive. Again, not long considering they were coming from India & the Andes. They were well packaged and each included a personal thank you from the artist. As you can see from the pictures, they are beautiful pieces, both hand carved from wood. Each piece in the chess set is perfectly scultped, and the flute has a beautiful tone. My husband is a musician and a avid chess player so he was thrilled with them both and has them proudly displayed in our living room.  These types of products are exactly our style so we couldn't be happier with the whole process.

The chess set and flute are only two of  hundreds of beautiful items. They have an elegant jewelry collection, home decor, and sculptures to name only a few. Novica has united over 2000 master artists from around the world, bringing you a extensive collection in just one website. To keep up with their latest updates, become their fan on facebook or follow them on twitter.  You can also sign up for their newsletter on the bottom left hand side on the page. However you do it, you will want to keep this site bookmarked. You're not only getting a great gift but supporting real artists in their work.

This is pretty cool. I've always liked National Geographic. I used to have a subscription to their magazine when I was younger.
