Watch T.V. Whenever You Want With the DISH DVR

I've had my new DISH service for a few weeks now and it continues to amaze me. I realize a lot of this stuff isn't new to most people, but for me, the built in DVR is like a miracle. It allows me to record anything that's playing on any of the channels and I can watch it whenever I want. With six people and one living room, we often have arguments over which things to watch. A lot of the time, I just give it to everyone and don't watch television at all. It was always too hard for me to catch a series that started at 8 or 9pm when the T.V. was in high demand, and although some shows could be watched at any time with my old service, it seemed it was never the ones I was interested in.  With DISH, I can record an entire season of any series I want and watch it whenever it's convenient for me.  I can even skip the commercials!

The photo above shows just a few of the things our family was able to record with our Hopper DVR. The Witches of East End was a series I really wanted to catch but it came on at a time that is normally reserved for writing. With DISH, I was able to sit and unwind and watch it around midnight the same day it premiered, after all my work was done for the day.  There were also a few movies on HBO and Starz I wanted to see but they were always on at odd times. So I recorded those as well and I can not only watch them at my convenience, but over and over again as many times as I want since the DVR saves recorded programs for several months. Two of the movies I saved were Snow White and the Huntsman and Les Miserables.   Even my kids got in on the action and recorded their favorite shows including Sam & Cat.

Recording the shows is way simpler than I expected. You just select what you want to watch, hit the record button and forget about it. When you're ready to watch, you hit the DVR button on the remote and all the recorded programs pop up. Just select the one you want to see, hit "start over" and you're good to go.  Easy peasy.  I love the convenience of being able to watch television on my own schedule instead of having to drop what I'm doing at a certain time.
