I like to find toys and games for my children that encourage thought and creativity. They aren't always easy to find. Sometimes it seems like everything out there is based off silly cartoon characters or filled with violence with no educational value whatsoever. Educational Insights understands how frustrating it can be to find toys that both parents and kids can all agree on. So they've made it their business to find the most exciting, educational toys out there, and bring them all together in one great website.
Educational Insights was nice enough to send me four different toys and games which I will be posting about over the next few days. And even more exciting, they are offering one of each item as prizes for my readers. You won't want to miss out of any of these great giveaways, so be sure to check back over the next few weeks. But today, I am going to tell you about a fun and innovative game called Stix & Stones.
Stix & Stones will bring you back to prehistoric times. Your kids will learn all about how cavemen used to express themselves in this hilarious guessing game. The set comes with a hemp bag filled with plastic sticks and stones that look just like the real things. You also have dice, a timer, an arrow, and cards. You will need at least four players so you can break up into teams. One player on the team will pick a card, roll the dice, and have to create one of the things on the list of options out of only the sticks and stones. This can be anything from a cat to a car. Their team mate will have to guess what they're making before the timer runs out. Whichever team makes the most correct guesses will be the winner. But winning is secondary to the laughs your family will share as they scamble to make pictures out of nothing but sticks and stones. Check out a few of our creations.

My kids had so much fun playing this game. Long after my husband and I had to quit to get the baby ready for bed, they were still practicing making their pictures. Its a great way to encourage creativity and expression and really gets kids thinking. I would recommend this game to anyone with kids seven and up. Younger kids might have a hard time reading the cards, but I'm sure if they have some help, they would enjoy it too.
One very lucky winner is going to receive a copy of Stix & Stones to play with your family. To enter, visit Educational Insights and tell me another game or toy you would love to have for your kids.
