Educational Insights Spring #Giveaway
Spring may have just started, but before we know it, the kids will be out of school and we'll be looking for ways to keep them occupied. Educational Insights has tons of fun games and toys to help make your summer run smoothly. Here are a few of our top picks.
Discover amazing, up-close lunar exploration with GeoSafari® Jr. My First Telescope! Little ones can explore the moon with this focus-free telescope, built specifically for little hands and growing minds. Perfect for STEM learning. The 10x magnification provides fantastic views of the moon, while keeping the field of vision wide, which is essential for young children’s understanding of magnified views.
My Thoughts
This telescope is a wonderful way to get your kids outside. First of all, the assembly is very simple. You only have to attach the telescope to the base. This screws right in. You won't need any tools. Once set up, I found the telescope to be much more powerful than I expected. We were able to get an excellent view of the moon and see the detail of the craters. The stars were much more visible as well, and I was able to point out a few of the constellations. What I really liked about this telescope is that the part you look through is more like binoculars. This is much easier for younger children who can have trouble trying to close one eye to look through a standard telescope. Overall, a great toy that works almost as well as the real one I have! Now we can look at the stars together.
Become Cinderella for a day! Players take turns flicking the Magical Wand Shaker and placing matching colored tokens on their castle cards. The first to fill her castle with tokens wins the game AND the “glass” slipper!
My Thoughts
The object of this game is to gather all the Cinderella tokens and transform them into princess tokens. You achieve this by rolling the dice and getting the colors that correspond to the pieces. The first time you get the color, you can to add a token, such a the mice, old dress, or pumpkin, to your board. The second time, you can flip it over and magically transform it into a horse, gown, or carriage. If you roll a fairy godmother, you can take any piece you need, but if you roll a clock you have to put one piece back. The first one to get all the pieces transformed wins the glass slipper. My daughter really loved this game. It's fast-paced, fun, and makes her feel like a princess. She especially loves rolling the dice with the beautiful wand shaker!
Find and feed hungry puppies! Players shake the Dog Bowl Randomizer to find out which pup to feed, then scan the board for the pup with matching colors. The player who finds the matching pup first feeds it a bone. The first player to give away all bones first wins!
My Thoughts
This is a cute game that is fun for very young children. It would be a great choice for pre-schoolers. The game comes with a board, bone pieces, and a randomizer. You shake the randomizer and it will land on two colors. One is the color of the dog, and the other is the color of the collar. The first person to find the dog on the board that matches gets to place one of their five bones down on it. Whoever feeds all five of their bones to the dogs first will be the winner. It's a fast-paced game and a great way for children to learn their colors.
Perfect for pretend play and artistic expression, these ready-to-write-and-draw versions of our best-selling Rainbow Prancers™ feature felt-tip markers in bright, beautiful colors and flowing, multi-colored manes. Add a little magic to your next puppet show or coloring session!
My Thoughts
These are just too cute! My daughter had been asking for puppets, and since she loves unicorns, these were the perfect choice for her. There are three unicorns in the set--white, pink, and green. There's a little lever on them that allows the mouth to open and close. If that's not exciting enough, these mini versions also have colored markers on the bottom of them! So you get a toy and an art supply in one fun package!
Get ”in shape” with no-mess Playfoam®! Let little imaginations soar with this all-new, vehicle-themed, squishy-squashy set that can be shaped and sculpted over and over again.
My Thoughts
My kids just love Playfoam. It's just as much fun as colored dough, but with a lot less mess. The pieces don't get stuck to your clothes, and it's a lot easier to separate the colors. This package comes with several different vehicles already assembled. There's a plane, car, and a few trucks. My kids loved playing with these, but also enjoyed taking them apart to try new designs. This is a great starter set for anyone trying Playfoam for the first time.
Turn your home into the Shoemaker’s workshop! Read the story together; then, watch your little one’s creativity blossom with a full-color, double-sided shoe shop playset with seven ready-to-color characters and a shoe to decorate and lace!
My Thoughts
This is such a fun craft idea. You get both a cute story and crafts all in one package. This set tells the story of the elves who help a poor shoemaker find fame. It also includes several papers dolls that kids can decorate themselves. There is a big shoe with a real tie that will help kids learn how to tie their laces. This craft set makes for hours of entertainment and encourages storytelling.
The Twelve Dancing Princesses will dance their way into your little one’s heart! Read the story together; then, watch her creativity shine as YOUR princess colors five fun characters for use against a full-color storybook backdrop. Plus, she can create and decorate a mosaic dancing shoe and princess crown!
My Thoughts
This is another cute two in one combo set. The book tells the story of the twelve dancing princesses, sisters who sneak out each night to go dancing with their princes. In addition to the book, you get beautiful paper dolls that kids can color to make them their own. There are also other crafts where kids can design their own shoes or princess crown. It's a wonderful way to spend a rainy day. Kids can create their own characters which really helps them get into the story and encourages them to read.
