It's business as usual when Mack Carter (Danny Webb, The Bill)—felonious
breadwinner for a dysfunctional family of lowlifes—gets charged with
robbery. But when Mack is sentenced to four years in jail, his wife,
Lindsay (a deliciously brazen Amanda Redman, New Tricks),
resolves to clean up her life. She's determined to drag her conniving
children back to the straight and narrow as well. Going legit isn't so
simple, though.
Lindsay finds herself dealing with impending
poverty, thankless retail jobs, a pair of troublemaking sons, two
cunning daughters, and a father-in-law who may be faking his
Alzheimer's. On top of that, she struggles to fend off men from her past
who hope to take advantage of her compromised position—including the
detective (Sean Pertwee, Cold Feet) investigating one of her sons (Matthew McNulty, The Syndicate). Can the Carters go from corrupt to squeaky clean without coming apart at the seams?

My Thoughts
Honest is a fantastic British series that blends comedy and drama beautifully. After the leader of their criminal family is sent to prison, a group of crooks decide its time to take a chance and go straight. Of course, that isn't as easy as they planned. Lindsay finds herself a luckless leader of trying to stay on the straight and narrow. The kids don't want to cooperate and still get themselves into trouble on a regular basis. Lindsay has a hard time with her retail job and finds it might not be enough to keep her family off the streets. With four ungrateful kids and a crazy father-in-law, Lindsay has her hands full which leads to dozens of sometimes comical and sometimes serious situations. A stellar cast and great storytelling makes this fun series a must watch.
