One of my favorite towns in my county is Victorian Cape May. Its been a vacation spot since back in the early 1800's. The beautiful Victorian homes have stood the test of time, and stand regal and splendid as they look out over the vastness of the ocean. Because of our history, we are steeped in Victorian culture from the reinactment plays to the ghost tours. So as a lover of all things Victorian, I couldn't help but admire the items in the Burke Hare Co Etsy shop. They have a wide assortment of vintage style home decor that will make you feel like you stepped back in time. But unlike some other Victorian style shops, Burke Hare Co is not all flowers and cherubs. They bring to light the darker side of the era, like the awakening to the occult and classic dark literature. Their designs are unique, original, and many pieces are hand painted.

What really grabbed my attention in this shop, is the fact that many of their pieces are inspired by my favorite lierary works from the Victorian era. From Alice in Wonderland to Edgar Allen Poe, you can enjoy both the whimsical and the darker side of the 18th Century with the products at Burke Hare Co. I was especially drawn to the Raven Pillar Candle, inspired by Edgar Allen Poe's classic sonata, "The Raven." Just looking at this beautiful candle, you can almost hear the sound of his caw, whispering, "Never more." Its an inspirational work of art, and a lovely piece of home decor for any fan of this timeless author.
