George Gently Series 1 Coming to Blu Ray January 17th
A former Scotland Yard sleuth now tracking murderers in Britain’s North Country, George Gently (Tony® nominee Martin Shaw) is an old-time copper in the rapidly changing 1960s. Based on Alan Hunter’s novels, this series has been compared to Foyle’s War and Midsomer Murders. Lee Ingleby stars as Gently’s overeager protégé. “Great performances”—San Francisco Chronicle. Each series is 2–4 mysteries, 3–6 hrs, 1–4 discs, SDH.
I received the George Gently Series 1 to review, and although I have never seen the show before this, I was able to follow along with no trouble. Each episode stands on its own and offers its own unique and suspenseful storyline. It is set in 1960's Britain, and the costumes and scenery really bring to life this classic era. If you want to get the advantage of a full set of amazing stories that will leave you on the edge of your seat, than this is the box set for you. You can order George Gently Series 1 on Blu-ray Disc for only $49.99 at Acorn Media.
