Valentine's Day Gift Guide - Crayon Rocks - #Giveaway

My daughter Willow tells me every day that she plans to be an artist. She will sit and color for hours at a time.  Her little brother likes to join her, but even though he's only three, he's not so little and doesn't know his own strength. Almost every time he touches a crayon, he presses too hard and snaps it in half.  When I first saw Crayon Rocks, I knew they would be the perfect solution. These cute crayons come in a variety of fun colors and are shaped just like rocks.

As avid rock hounds who collect all sorts of crystals and polished stones, my kids loved the shapes and colors of the Rock Crayons as soon as they saw them. I could actually put them next to some of our rocks and you wouldn't be able to tell them apart until you touched them. But the cool design is only one of the great features. The unique shape makes them easier for little fingers to hold. For the first time ever, my son can grip a crayon without breaking it, and my daughter doesn't have her art supplies in pieces.

The set of crayons we tried out had a Valentine's Day theme, which are a wonderful alternative to sugary candy if you like to give your child a little gift. They came beautifully packaged with hearts on the box and tissue paper.  The crayons can be stored in the pretty red and white bag which was also included. The set came with a nice assortment of colors and they work perfectly. Here are a few examples of the artwork my daughter has created using her Crayon Rocks.

In addition to being the perfect art supplies, Crayon Rocks are also environmentally friendly. Each crayon is made from natural soy wax, using American-grown soy beans and natural mineral colors. They are non-toxic and conform to CPSIA regulations.

  2. I thought this was pretty interesting to learn about these; Since a child's first writing tool is usually a crayon, that crayon should be one that encourages him or her to use thumb, first and second fingers in a tripod grip.
