Easter Gift Guide - Fill Those Baskets with VTech Toys! - Review & #Giveaway

Still struggling to come up with fun Easter gift ideas for your pre-schoolers? VTech has some awesome ideas just the right size for your kid's baskets. Here are just a few ideas to help back this holiday even more specular.

InnoTab®Doc McStuffins software cartridge (Ages 4-7 years; MSRP: $24.99)
-          Learn reading, vocabulary, observation, logic, memory, math, visual skills, creativity, healthy living and more! The Doc is in!
-          Read a story about Lambie and Doc in an e-book, color in Doc's Big Book of Boo-Boos and play games with Doc and her friends.

 My Thoughts

My daughter is starting Pre-K  next year and this game has been the perfect way to give her a head start. Doc McStuffins is one of her favorite characters and she guides children through a variety of games that teach reading, math, colors and more. There are lots of games and coloring pages, but these are a few of our favorites.  The Ballet Dance Party is a cognitive matching game to help improve memory. Letter Bubbles has letters floating and kids need to pop them in the correct order to spell a word. Hide & Seek is a game where toys run and hide and the kids need to locate them, again a great cognitive game that teaches kids to pay attention. Check Up teaches kids all about the tools doctors use and helps alleviate any nervousness around doctors visits. My daughter loved all the games and never gets tired of them. This is a great choice for any little girls with an Innotab.

InnoTab Sofia the First software cartridge (Ages 3-6 years; MSRP: $24.99)
-          Seven learning games and two creative activities teach counting, colors, patterns, problem solving and more! Join Sofia on this wild and thrilling day!
-          Learn how Sofia becomes a princess in Story Mode with the interactive e-book. Take pictures with favorite characters and scenes (camera activity compatible with any InnoTab® system with a camera).

My Thoughts

The Sofia The First cartridge from Innotab offers a variety of fun ways to set pre-schoolers on the path to learning. There are tons of fun games and coloring activities featuring my daughter's favorite little princess. In a game of logic, you can help Sofia set the royal table using shapes and colors. Dancing in the Professor Popov's dance class will help kids understand sequences. There's a little eBook including a story all about how Sofia became a princess. There are also sorting games, counting games, rhyming games and so much more. You can even take photos of yourself and insert them into scenes with Sofia. My daughter really enjoyed all the games and playing them has helped her improve both her reading and mathematics skills.

Go! Go! Smart Wheels® Vehicles (Ages 1-5 years; MSRP: $7.99)
-          These electronic play vehicles are perfectly sized for little hands and entertain children with a light-up button that activates music and sounds.
-          Little ones will also learn about different letters and vehicle names through pretend play.

My Thoughts

My son received the Go! Go! Smart Wheels ATV  and he thought it was pretty cool.  There aren't many cars out there for younger boys but this one is perfect for toddlers. It's just the right size for their pudgy hands.  The ATV lights up and sings several catchy tunes with just the press of a button. The focus of this particular toy is the letter A. Adam is the driver of the ATV and most of what it talks about is associated with that letter. Other vehicles in the line teach other letters. It even teaches kids a little about the vehicle. My son loves it and it encourages imaginative play. Battery life seems to hold up pretty well as he's been using it almost non-stop for over a week and its still going strong.

The only con I see about this product is the possibility of small pieces breaking off. Though they seem pretty sturdy so far, the wheels or handle could present a choking hazard if they broke off. I would be leery of giving it children who still have a habit of putting things in their mouth. With my 2 1/2 year old, I only let him use it with supervision.

Switch & Go Dinos®Turbo Assortment (Ages 3-8 years; MSRP: $9.99)
-          Kids can rev up the action with flywheels that let the dinos race and roar across the floor. Each dino also emits realistic vehicle and dinosaur sounds and phrases that teach fun facts about each dino.
-          The range features six new dinos, including Dart the Triceratops, Zipp the T-Rex, Spur the Stegosaurus, Fray the Ankylosaurus, Cruz the Spinosaurus and Spinner the Stygimoloch.

My Thoughts

Fray the Anklosaurus is a super cool toy! It combines two of my son's favorite things by having cars transform into dinosaurs and vice versa. Making the switch can be done in just a few simple steps and isn't frustrating for younger kids. With just a press of a button, kids can also enjoy over twenty-five sounds and phrases like dinosaur roars, revving sounds, and fun facts about the dinosaur. In addition, you can watch your dino fly across your house just by pulling back on the wheels. I found this worked best on hard surfaces, like tile or hard wood floors, but it does work on the rug as well. It's just not as fast. The Switch & Go Dinos are a fun investment and they even teach kids a thing or two!
