 Java lovers don't have to spend a fortune to brew a great cup of coffee.  In a recent test of nearly 100 coffeemakers, Consumer Reports identified the Mr. Coffee® 12-cup Programmable Coffeemaker as a CR Best Buy saying it delivered “convenience and optimal brewing.”  In tests of conventional drip coffeemakers, which are best for serving a crowd  - think holiday entertaining - Consumer Reports “Recommended” the $40 brewer saying it matched the brewing performance of pricier models as it is “easy-to-use and clean, has a well-balanced carafe, and aced Consumer Reports' brew tests which are based on how closely models reach the industry-standard of 195ºF to 205ºF for roughly five minutes.”  The coffeemaker is available at Walmart.com.

 My Thoughts

This coffee maker is awesome! It has so many amazing features. First, I'm excited to have a coffee pot that goes off on a timer. It was really easy to set, and it's great to have your coffee waiting as soon as you get up in the morning. Because sometimes it's hard to make a cup of coffee before you've had a cup of coffee. But that is only the beginning of the perks with this coffee maker. I really love the brewing pause and serve option. My husband is notorious for yanking the coffee pot off the machine in the middle of brewing. Then I have coffee everywhere and, of course, he never cleans it up. Now we can pause the brewing process so he can grab his coffee without making a mess. But I have my faults too. I am really bad about remembering to turn off the coffee pot when I go out,which can be dangerous. This Mr. Coffee machine has an automatic shut off feature. After two hours, it switches off automatically.

If you still aren't impressed,  there is more to love. There is a brew strength selector that enables you to pick just how weak or strong you want your coffee to be. There's even a water filtration system that removes up to 97% of chlorine and I can really taste the difference when I use our tap water. Yet, none of  this would matter if you didn't have a great cup of coffee waiting for you at the end of the process. And guess what? You will. Ever single time you use this machine, you are pretty much guaranteed the perfect cup.  Taste will vary depending on the brand of coffee you use, but using the most common name brands, my coffee has been just the way I like it every morning--strong, warm, fresh and delicious. You simply can't go wrong with this coffee maker.
