Fill in The Blankie Review & Giveaway

 I am having my fourth baby, so I have bought and received a lot of blankets over the years, from hand knitted afghans to white blankets with their names and dates of birth on them. But recently I found a company that does things a little differently. Fill In The Blankie allows you to create your own custom blanket using whatever words you want. From names to prayers to special dates, it can all be included. Plus you can add cute symbols and even include a stuffed animal. Its a great gift and a wonderful keepsake for any parent.

For my review, I was given a gift certificate so that I could experience the whole Fill in the Blankie process. Creating your custom blanket is easy. The first step is to choose a blanket, and there are a variety of colors, fabrics and styles to choose from. I went with a light green blanket because I'm not sure what my baby is yet. This also means I didn't know what name I should use, so I went with something really unique. I added the Wiccan Crede to my blanket. This is a few simple lines that I base my life on, so having my baby wrapped in those words is a wonderful gift. I would never be able to find something like that in stores. So Fill in the Blankie has given me something I can truly treasure.

Filling the blanks on the blanket was simple and fun. You have four lines to work with that go all around the blanket. There are lots of different fonts to choose from and you will have the opportunity to proof read. After you have your words filled in, you can pick designs for the corners of each sentence. I went with moons which was the perfect match to the Wiccan Crede, but you can choose from blocks, bears, crosses and dozens more.You can also choose the color thread for both the words and the pictures. Finally, you have the option of including a stuffed animal to get wrapped up in your blanket. They have pigs, bears and more for a small additional charge.

I was completely amazed when my completed blanket arrived less than a week after I ordered it. In fact, it was only three or four days. In comes wrapped up in a cute bundle with a bow and a little safety pin. The embroidery was perfect. There were no mistakes and the silver threading  showed up nicely with the white silk border. I couldn't be happier with my blanket and I would recommend this company to anyone who is having a baby. I also know I will be coming back again and again whenever a friend or family member is expecting. You can't ask for a more personal or beautiful gift that a personalized blanket from Fill In The Blankie.
