Green Town Toys Review & Earth Day Giveaway

 

Its not always easy being a green mama when so many of the toys out there are made with materials that are sometimes toxic and almost always bad for the environment. Well, I came across a really cool little shop that I think is perfect for younger children. Its called Green Town Toys, and it not only environmentally friendly but wallet friendly as well.  They have tons of adorable toys from play houses to table and chair sets that kids will get lots of use out of. And when they're done with them, they can be recycled.

I love the idea of cardboard toys for several reasons. First of all, I've had those little plastic playhouses and table & chair sets before. They never last for more than a year or two before the kids outgrow them. Then you have a pretty large piece of garbage that is going to sit in a landfill somewhere. Even if you pass it down to another child or a friend, eventually that is where it will wind up. But with the cardboard toys, it is easy to recycle once your child has outgrown it.  You can choose from a variety of fun items like the Junior Executive Desk, The Citadel fortress, the Jolly Roger pirate ship and more. Many of them can also be decorated so the kids can make them their own personal creations.  Green Town Toys has more options then any of the other cardboard toy companies I have seen to date. For our review, we received the Tot Pod. This remarkable set comes with two chairs and a table. When I first opened the box, I was a little intimated by all the pieces. But once I took a look at the directions I realized it wasn't that difficult. I had the whole thing together in less than five minutes, and Willow has been playing with it all day. She set up and rearranges her tea set, and even loves moving the chairs around the table. It is just the right size for a toddler like her, but it also held up to the weight of my eight and ten year old kids. The best part for me, is that when they are done playing with it, I can take it apart and store it easily until they want to use it again. This is definitely a fun and affordable gift that would make any child  happy.
