Mythic Non-Toxic Pants Paint Review & Giveaway

We recently had to switch around the bedrooms in our little house. Willow moved into her own room, and my two older kids are now bunking together. When we started moving things around, one of the first things I had to do, was peel down the Spiderman decals what were on the wall. They were up for about a year and had promised not to damage to the walls. Well, I will never use decals again because they completely ruined the paint that was only two years old. And not only did they remove paint, in some sections, they were removed part of the drywall. Take a took and at some of the photos of the damage to the walls.

 We knew we had to paint the room, but I was nervous about it. I didn't want the paint fumes in the house when I have a baby who was born a preemie and has as tendency to get the croup. But then I discovered a company called Mythic Paint. They make non-toxic and ultra low odor paint in a rainbow of delightful colors. I was lucky enough to receive two gallons of paint in the color of my choice. I was very tempted to go with one of the purple or pink paints for the nursery. But because our house if up for sale, my husband said we should stick with something more neutral. So we went with the Pebble Beach shade from the Earthtones Collection.

I was worried that it was going to take three or four coats to cover up the terrible marks left by the decals. But after just one coat, they were hard to see. After two, you would never have known there was any damage at all. The paint left the walls looking shiny and new and rich with color.  Here is the final result.  You can't even tell where the marks had been.

But even more important than a glossy finish is that fact I know that this paint is non toxic and safe for my children. True to their word, the paint had very little odor. I sent the baby to my mom's the day of the actual painting, but I don't even think that was necessary.  After airing the room out for the day, there was really no paint fumes left at all by bedtime.  All in all, I was extremely happy with the results I received from Mythic Paint. And as soon as I get into the bigger house we're looking for, I plan to return to get enough paint for all the rooms. And in some of their more original and unique colors to really brighten things up and make it personal!
