Erudition Review & Giveaway

 Both of my kids struggle with spelling. They tend to spell things exactly the way they think it sounds, and are having a hard time grasping the rules of the English language. Sight words are especially difficult for them because there are no tricks to help learn them. They just need to memorize them. But it gets frustrating and sometimes they just get tired of trying. The best way to offer the encouragement they need to keep going is to try to make the work seem like a game. And that is exactly what Sight Words Game has done with their amazing board game Erudition.

The game is easy to play. It comes with the board, die, 5 pawns, and four decks of cards in various colors that are based on different levels of reading readiness. This diverse selection of cards makes it possible for siblings of different ages to play together with no unfair advantages. Players roll the dice to move around the board and get bonus rolls when they are able to read their sight words correctly.  To mix things up there are stop signs and yield signs that can give you additional bonus entries to either you or your opponent.  The first person to reach the library will be the winner.  In addition to the game, we also received an activity and coloring book. This is a wonderful tool to keep your children practicing their reading during school vacations. Whether its a week for the holidays or three months for summer, its easy for kids to lose ground if they don't practice. The Erudition book is a fun and unique way to get kids thinking.
