OMG! My Daughter won a $20,000 Scholarship from Dockers!!

A few months ago, I was blog hopping as I normally do.  Someone posted this Dockers contest on their blog for a chance to win a scholarship. I wish I could remember who it was so I could thank them! I specifically remember entering it because I had to choose one of my children to enter. I decided on Gabby because Frankie swears he's joining the Air Force, in which case he shouldn't need it. So I entered Gabby and went along my blogging way. I didn't think about it again until yesterday when I got a voice mail message from the Directer of Marketing from Dockers about my entry for the scholarship. I called him back with trembling fingers and I'm sure I sounded like a stuttering idiot when he told me that Gabrielle had won a scholarship for $20,000! 

Of course it will take a few weeks for all the paperwork to go through, and I have to decide how to handle the taxes and what not. But within eight weeks my daughter will have a $10,000 bond which, by the time she goes to college in 2018, should be worth around $20,000.  I'm sure some people out there might be thinking its a scam and that I shouldn't get excited until the check is in my hand. But I have experience with sweepstakes and I know this one is legit.

Its been about twenty four hours since we found out, and I am still in shock. I want to send out a HUGE thank you to Dockers and Sears for choosing Gabrielle as the winner and for hosting much an amazing contest in the first place. I am soooo glad I did most of my back to school shopping at Sears!  I will post some additional information and pictures as we go through the whole process. For anyone out there who ever thought it was silly to enter sweepstakes, I am living proof that it is possible to win!  Its such an amazing feeling to know that my daughter will have this head start. I am so grateful to Sears for making this dream a reality!
