DISH offers BBC’s Blue Planet II in 4K & Sweepstakes

In 2001, the world was first captivated by BBC’s The Blue Planet, a nature documentary narrated by Sir David Attenborough, showcasing extraordinary marine creatures and underwater ecosystems. Nearly 17 years later, we get to experience this brilliance again in the sequel, Planet Earth: Blue Planet II – only this time, in stunning 4K resolution.

After the success of the original series, BBC sent crews on 125 expeditions across 39 countries to produce Blue Planet II. More than 6,000 hours of underwater footage from an estimated 4,000 dives were captured using breakthroughs in science and the most cutting-edge technology to provide audiences with mesmerizing, crystal-clear shots of our diverse oceans.

This eight-episode series premiered in January, but if you haven’t had a chance to watch, don’t worry—DISH is showcasing the documentary in 4K UHD on-demand now until April 9. It will also be available in HD on-demand if you don’t have a 4K TV setup. To watch, click the ‘home’ button on your remote and scroll to the on-demand menu to select Blue Planet II.

Plus, if you want to catch the remaining three episodes live in HD, all DISH customers can enjoy access to BBC America (channel 135) at no additional cost through March 6.
DISH customers can watch Blue Planet II on-demand in 4K UHD with a Hopper 3 or 4K Joey connected to a 4K TV. Don’t have a 4K TV? Enter for a chance to win a Samsung 75″ Silver UHD 4K HDR LED Smart HDTV on mydish.com/sweepstakes.*
