My Thoughts

I was super excited about this release. I was fifteen when I watched the cartoon version of Beauty and the Beast in theaters. I  loved it then, and taking my children to watch the live action version was even better. In this film, a beautiful book worm sets out to search for her missing father. She winds up in an old castle where the furniture is alive. It's guarded over by a beast who was cursed many years ago. Only love can save him, and he has given up hope. However, Belle sees beyond the monster to the man beneath. The only thing that stands in their way is the evil Gaston and his crew who want to kill the beast and end all chance of a happily ever after.

This was an amazing retelling of a classic. It had all the characters I loved with just enough new twists to keep me on the edge of my seat. It was amazing how they were able to bring the characters to life. The Beast was so lifelike, and the enchanted staff was simply magical. Belle's wardrobe was pretty impressive as well. I loved this movie just as much as my children did. I could watch it over and over again and never get tired of it. The live action Beauty and the Beast is destined to be a favorite for generations, just like the cartoon.
