Lucasfilm’s “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” the first of the Star Wars standalone films, has established its place within the Star Wars universe and the hearts of moviegoers, becoming the seventh highest-grossing film of all time in the U.S. Fans can own the epic action-adventure thriller -- nominated for two Academy Awards® -- early on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere on March 24, and on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack, DVD and On-Demand on April 4

Never-before-seen “Rogue One” bonus material will take fans behind the scenes with the movie’s diverse, dynamic cast and inspired team of filmmakers. An intimate collection of stories reveals how the film came to life, as well as hidden Easter Eggs and film facts that audiences may have missed in the theater.

My Thoughts

Rogue One is story of  misfits who find a purpose and unite for a cause they all believe in. Jyn's father is a genius scientist stolen by the Empire. Her mother is killed and she is raised to fight.   When she grows up, she joins with a group of other unlikely heroes including criminals and a blind warrior who believes in the power of the force. Together, they come up with a daredevil scheme to break into enemy territory and steal the plans to the Death Star before it can destroy any more lives. Her father secretly hid a self-destruct button in the Death Star which gives them hope that there is still a chance. She hopes to help destroy it and maybe even have a chance to save her father.

This was a great movie, and an awesome way to hold us over until the next part of the trilogy is released. I especially loved the cameo of Princess Leia, even if it was CGI.  The film was packed with action and is a great reminder that the main characters we have all grown up with were only part of millions who were fighting the Dark Side alongside Leia, Hans, and Luke.  Rogue One was definitely a fun edition to the franchise. I would have wanted this movie in my collection no matter what, but the extensive bonus material on the Blu-ray makes it even more exciting.  Be sure to grab a copy for yourself. It is available in stores nationwide and online at Amazon.
