popchips are introducing an all-new line called Ridges, which roll out to retailers nationwide in June in four delicious flavors: salted, tangy barbecue, cheddar & sour cream and chili cheese. Ridges offer a big bold crunch that you would expect from a deep fried chip, but still have 72% less fat and 55% less calories than the leading ridged chip brand. 

Popchips found that 7 out of 10 better-for-you shoppers were seeking more crunch in their snacking, and Ridges were specifically created to deliver.  The snack company, which pioneered the popping process for potatoes, spent several years experimenting with its innovative process of combining heat and pressure to create and extraordinarily crunchy and bold tasting ridged chip.  In addition to the the launch of Ridges, popchips is also rolling out entirely new packaging for the brand, prominently pronouncing flavor front and center.  Like other popchips Ridges are gluten-free, kosher, contain no artificial preservatives, no synthetic colors, no cholesterol and zero grams of trans fat.  

My Thoughts

I love salty snacks, and chips are my one of my favorites, but I hate the greasiness they leave behind on my hands. Even after you wash them, that greasy feeling lingers, but this doesn't happen with popchips. These yummy chips are different, because they aren't baked or fried. Instead, they take only the best potatoes, add a little heat and pressure, and wait for them to pop.  Then they add a little seasoning.  The result is a crispy, light snack that tastes amazing but doesn't leave behind the greasy residue like so many other chips. I've loved these chips for years, but now I have another reason to love them even more! Now, popchips have ridges!

 My family received a sample pack of single serve bags in the new Frozen and Star Wars themes, and they were a huge hit with everyone. The bags are just the right size to tuck into a lunch bag. They come in tasty varieties like Sea Salt, chili cheese,  Barbecue, cheddar & sour cream, salt & pepper.  Despite the lack of grease, the chips are still packed with flavor.  They don't taste like cardboard, like so many "better for you" options. In fact, when I filled up a bowl with these chips at my daughter's birthday party, no one believed it when I told them they were gluten free and had no trans fat. They are so shockingly delicious, you'll have trouble believing they're a healthier option too, but they really are.
