See the World in a Box with GlobeIn

Traveling the world is definitely on my bucket list, but with four kids it's not going to happen anytime soon. In the meantime, I found an exciting way to explore the world without ever leaving the comfort of my home. GlobeIn offers a unique subscription service that allows you to get a taste of exotic countries. Every month, you can order a new box from with cool things from all over the world and experience their art and culture on a truly personal level.

This month's box actually brought us to a whole bunch of different countries. The theme of for February was  World Kitchen, and each item gave us a little taste of life in another part of the world. Even their packaging is unique.

All the items are packed in a really cute hand-woven basket. You can use this to store all sorts of treasures.

The first item in my basket was a bag of artisan roasted coffee from Nicaragua. This was definitely a high quality dark-roast. The flavor was very smooth, but also extremely strong, just the way I like it.

From Nabeul Tunsia comes a gorgeous piece of hand-made, hand-painted pottery. Its the perfect way to store sugar, spices, candy or just about anything.

From Madagascar we received a container of pure ground vanilla. You can use this is place of vanilla extract.

The Fair Trade Pink salt from Peru is one of my favorite items in this batch. This salt has been used for centuries by the Inka people to preserve their food.

From Antigua Guatemala we received a stunning handwoven kitchen towel. Its almost too pretty to use on dishes.

From Java Indonesia we got to sample Coconut Palm Sugar. This is an all-natural alternative to confectionery sugar.

Every one of these items was high quality and beautiful. Getting a mix of housewares and food makes it even more fun. There is definitely something for everyone in this package and even if you didn't want to keep it all for yourself, you can easily pass along one or two of the items as a gift.  You get all this for only $35  or less a month! Even the shipping is free. As an added bonus, the money from the gifts isn't going to a big corporation. All the artists are from small villages and each piece is handmade. The money goes to the people of these villages who may never have managed to have their work seen on a global scale if not for this service. It's a great gift and a great cause!  In addition to the gift boxes, you can also find tons of other unique gifts that can be ordered individually including jewelry, housewares, instruments and so much more.

SNEAK PEEK

Want to see what's in the works for March's GlobeIn Box? The theme for the month is Sustain.

March brings a box of eco-friendly surprises -- goods and goodies that promise a better life for you, your family and the planet.
As with every month, your box supports independent artisans and farmers around the world. And this month, we've curated a special collection of items that you're certain to use, reuse and enjoy.
 Your Sustain Box  comes with:
 Chocolate Treats

In pre-Columbian Mesoamerica, cacao beans were the gold standard for all currency and trade. And for good reason. Besides their great taste, cacao is fragile, ecologically sensitive and grows best in only the purest conditions.

The Sustain Box promises a pure cacao sampling from the source. Our Columbian dark chocolate nibs are farmer-friendly and easy on the earth. They're just one small piece of eco-awesomeness!
This is just small peek at what's to come. There are sure to be tons of other goodies in the March GlobeIn Box. If you'd like to learn more about this fabulous company and all they have to offer, be sure to visit their website or follow them via their social media.  Also be sure to enter their giveaway for a chance to win a three month subscription!
