Holiday Gift Guide -K'nex Review & Giveaway

My son doesn't know all that much about TopGear since he has never watched BBC America. But he does love cars. He loves race cars, dump trucks, fire trucks and just about anything with wheels. He also loves building with blocks. So of course I knew he would love the new TopGear building sets that are now available from K'NEX. They make the perfect holiday gift for any little boy.
We received one to review, and my son was thrilled with it.   These are pretty easy to assemble. My Frankie did most of it on his own. The pieces snap together easily and it even includes a race car along with the 259 pieces. When its completed  you can actually use the launcher make the car fly through the air.  Luckily, we also have the 350 piece tub because, as was inevitable when dealing with kids, several pieces disappeared and we were able to replace them with the tub. But the tub also contains enough pieces to make 20 unique models.

My toddler also loves playing with her blocks. She amazes me with how quickly she can snap the over-sized blocks together and create abstract works of art. But as she gets older, she is getting bored with the large blocks and their limited options. Lately she has been grabbing at her older brother's K'NEX sets. But those are way to complicated for such a little girl. Luckily, K'NEX has the perfect solution for this in between stage. We were lucky enough to receive one of new kid Knex sets called the Undersea Friends Building. They are designed for children three and up, and give kids all they need to create an underworld adventure. The blocks are just the right size for chubby toddler fingers. The pieces are easy to snap together and don't fall apart easily. So once they have them together, its easy for them to play pretend. They can make all kids of different fish and there is even a swimmer and scuba diver to join in the fun.
