Summer Birthday Bash! Giddy Up Meteor Kit Review & Giveaway

Summer is coming and that means you need to have things lined up to keep your family entertained.  It is inevitable that there are going to be rainy days when the kids can't play outside. The best way to keep your kids busy for hours on days like this is with fun craft kits and science activity kits. You can find kits like these and so much more at Giddy Up. For our review,  we received the Make Your Own Meteor Kit. My son loves anything to do with space, so this was the perfect science kit for him. Making your own meteors is easy. The kit comes with a round mold that you fill with different colored crystals. You fill it in layers, alternating colors until it is filled all the way to the top. Then you let the mold soak in water for 5-10  minutes. About half an hour later, your meteor should be dry and you'll be ready to start your experiment.

When real meteors crash on the moon, they leave behind craters. Now you can see if your meteors will do the same thing. You take a baking pan and fill it with flour. Then you throw your meteor into it as hard as you can. Kids can write down their observations of what happens. Ours made a loud bang when it hit the pan and dust flew up everywhere. The crater it made was huge. We measured it and wrote it all down, just like a real scientist.

My kids had a great time playing with this kit on a rainy day when they would have been playing video games. But instead they actually had fun and learned a thing or two.  The Make Your Own Meteor Kit is only one example of so many exciting activities you can find at Giddy Up.
