Mother's Day Extravaganza! Dulce Caramel Co. Review & Giveaway

When I start shopping for my mom for Mother's Day, I always take her sweet tooth into consideration. I know she loves her chocolate. Especially dark chocolate. Throw in a little caramel and maybe some shortbread and you've transcended your normal sweet treat and crossed over into total heaven. And total heaven is exactly what I discovered when I found Dulce Caramel Co and their Dark Chocolate Alfajors which I swear are one of the best tasting things I have ever had the pleasure to try out.

For our review, I received a box of 12 Dark Chocolate Alfajors and it was not easy to share them, but I did share them with my husband and my mom and we all agreed they were amazing. What they do is take two delicious and buttery sable (shortbread-like) cookies. In the middle they smother them with creamy caramel. Then they add the coating, which is a thin shell of delicate bitter sweet chocolate. Just one bite and your mouth will be watering for more. They are the perfect chocolate snack-kind of like a cake, kind of a cookie but so much more than either of those. Great for a pick me up or with a cup of evening coffee. And at only $35 a dozen, they are an indulgent gourmet goodie that anyone can afford to treat their mom to this Mother's Day.
