Summer Birthday Bash! Giddy Up S'mores on a Stick Kit Review & Giveaway

S'mores are fun to eat, but can be a little complicated and messy when you do it the old fashioned way.  But now, thanks to Giddy Up and their fun and creative line of toys and games, you won't have to worry about the mess. Their newest creation, The S'mores on a Stick Kit, makes s'more making  a simple and fun activity the whole family can enjoy.

The kit comes with most of  what you'll need to get started including chocolate wafers, graham cracker crumbs, 12 plastic sticks, as well as some of the ingredients needed to make your own marshmallows.  The instructions are simple enough that most children will be able to follow on their own, but because you will be using the stove, this activity should only be done under adult supervision. You will need a few additional ingredients like sugar and salt, as well as mixers and saucepans, etc.

Making the marshmallows is the first step, and my kids were really excited about it. Even I thought it was interesting to be how this process worked because until now I had no idea what marshmallows were made of. You just need to pour the gelatin mix into the pan with cold water. You also make a syrup out of the sugar on the stove top. After lots of mixing and adding in a few more ingredients, you'll find you have created some thick and gooey marshmallows.  Once it cools you'll be able to cut in and put them on the sticks. This is the hardest part. The next steps of melting the chocolate, coating the marshmallows with it, and adding a coating of graham cracker crumbs is simple.

My kids had a load of fun with this activity on a rainy day when they would have spent the whole time playing video games. It was safer and easier then trying to make the S'mores in a campfire, and they didn't fall apart at all. And bet of all, they tasted great!
